Sayzon
6/10 An unusual Belgian style beer that’s apparently brewed in collaboration with Melissa Cole. I’ve read a few of her books and they’re really good, they’re like 3 stories in 1 all with the same people. What a creative mind! Sayzon is a hazy wheat beer rather than a thick, murky dark Belgian. It has…

Star
7/10 Star (not the lager!) is brewed in the Portobello Brewery, London. It’s a very smooth amber ale. I really enjoyed this one! Hints of roasted malt and coffee, floral berry and fruity late hop 4.3%

Murmur
8/10 The Wild Beer Co brew some creative beers! I’ve had some great ones from them now. They seem to think more about the beer accompanying food rather than just drinking it on its own. I don’t know about you, but I quite enjoy a liquid lunch now and again! Murmur is a mixture between…

Evolver IPA
8/10 If you are a true lover of hops then you must check out this brewery. The Wild Beer Co go that extra mile (or thousand) to bring wild yeast strains into their brews. This beer is 100% fermented with brettanomyces – a naturally occurring wild yeast. At 3 months it tastes the same as…

Gloucester Gold
7/10 A satisfying golden ale from Gloucester Brewery. This one has a hint of tropical fruits to it which makes it more refreshing for warm days. Quite light alcohol content too so it makes a great afternoon or dinner drink. 3.9%

Big Milk Stout (London Beer Factory)
8/10 Yessss! This is a big, whopping, sweet and creamy milk stout. A satisfying, strong and dark beer. Hints of chocolate and vanilla. Vanilla and cacao nibs layer luxuriousness over a soft wholesome stout 7.5%

Extra Special (Good Chemistry Brewing)
9/10 This is a festive tasting beer that I’m drinking in Summer. That said, it’s an amazing beer and I feel like I’ve just opened a late present from Santa. Extra Special uses a combination of seven different malts to create a rich, dark and complex beer. Fruity, spicy, malty, dark, warming, goodness. 5.6%

Stateside IPA (The Buckmore Brewery)
8/10 I bought this can from Also who have a great beer selection. There’s a lot more craft beer available now in most shops, it’s great! Stateside IPA by The Buckmore Brewery is to be enjoyed cold on a hot day. Give it the respect of a glass and enjoy. A bit sweet and fruity,…

Dinner ale
3/10 Quite a light and fruity pale ale. The brewery were inspired from an old 1884 recipe. They kept it low APV so that it would accompany food easier. Not my cup of tea. 3.3%
